Benjamin and Joey

Tabby-Benji; Black cat-Joey

Benjamin is an orange tabby adopted from New Kent Animal Shelter.

He arrived at New Kent rescue after losing his home to a fire on Christmas. His name was unknown so when Wings of Hope adopted him, we asked our social media friends for name and verse recommendations. Many wonderful names and verses were suggested and the "cat onboarding team" tested out several to see which sounds he responded to.

He seemed to really like "b's" and one name that stood out was suggested by volunteer Kathy, who recommended Benjamin. Kathy pointed out, "Benjamin was the 12th son of Jacob and our newest addition is the 12th animal in the barn."

Benjamin is affectionate and loves the volunteers at the Ranch. He feels pretty lucky to be loved on by so many friends. The large "cats" really intrigue him, and we think they'll become very good friends.

Benjamin's verse:
"And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between His shoulders." Deuteronomy 33:12

Joseph "Joey" was also adopted from New Kent Animal Shelter.

Shortly after he was surrendered to New Kent, they contacted Wings of Hope as they thought his personality would be a good fit.

His name was Joey and we thought it was a great name and inspired his verse from Genesis 50:20.

Joey is very outgoing and adores interacting with volunteers and ranchers alike at the Ranch. He is quite talkative too and loudly "meows" when he wants a bit of attention-- or if his feed bowl gets a little too low!

Joey's verse:
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Genesis 50:20
